What do you do when your bride and groom are both maritime historians? Plan a waterfront celebration that’s equal parts coastal, rustic and chic at—where else but—the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, of course! Emily and Daniel envisioned the most fitting outdoor celebration for their July nuptials, one that perfectly reflected their passion and connection as a couple. Thoughtful details like mussel shell place cards—collected by the couple while scouring the North Carolina coast—and non-traditional flowers (think succulent-dominated bridesmaid corsages and mixed centerpieces featuring nautical accents and shades of burgundy) stole the show, flowing beautifully with the pops of slate blue and deep red beneath the sailcloth tent. The Maritime Museum provided the perfect backdrop for this creatively themed celebration stunningly captured by Krista and Davey of Krista A. Jones Photography. We’re still swooning! Enjoy!
Private estate weddings have our heart for so many reasons—they’re uniquely personal, uber scenic and wide open to possibility when it comes to design! Working off a blank canvas is always a welcome challenge and we love finding new ways to get creative with layout. Case in point, Katie and Peter’s Oxford wedding, where we used a stunning boxwood wall with gorgeous barn doors to separate the ceremony and cocktail hour spaces from the reception tent (big shout out to Amaryllis for the killer wall!). We carried that rustic meets Eastern Shore vibe into the reception tent, where farm tables were paired with French vintage chairs, lush table garlands and hanging basket lanterns. Enjoy!
Andrew and Gwendolyn’s Chestertown wedding was signature Eastern Shore—scenic, romantic and stylishly relaxed! The groom’s family property was the setting for this tented celebration overlooking the Chester River. Soft whites mixed with hints of rich and muted blues to create an airy coastal vibe that fit perfectly with the couple’s laid-back style. Patterned linens and a focal escort card board dressed up cocktail hour—the perfect balance to the neutral scene inside the tent. All of this was beautifully captured by Lauren Swann, who especially killed it with the bride and groom portraits! Enjoy!
