Excuse us while we’re over here mourning the prospect of a Mother’s Day outing (see-ya next year Mother’s Day brunch). But we are determined to make the most of this quarantine holiday, so we’ve rounded up some of our personal favorite gifts that are sure to make this Mother’s Day a little more bearable for all of us! If our husbands are reading, we’ll take one of each please! Who are we kidding, we’ve already treated ourselves :)

1. Personalized Necklace, Maya Brenner
2.Potted Plant, The Sill
3.CBD Gumdrops, Lord Jones (because we could all use a little calming CBD right about now)
4.Blue Light Glasses, Priverevaux (to save our eyes from all the extra screen time)
5.Pajamas, Polkadot
6.Pretty Blooms, Grace Rose Farm
7.MUTHA Body Butter, Violet Grey
8.Rose Hand Wash, BYREDO (a luxury to support all the handwashing we’re doing these days)
9.Long or Short Robe, Weezie (the softest things on earth)
10.Learn a New Skill, Masterclass (something to fill the endless quarantine hours…hello mixology)

We’re definitely guilty of trying to add fresh greens to all things holiday. So we figured why not find a new way to add them to our gift tags this year? Enter these adorable pressed greenery acrylic tags! This is one of those DIYs that’s 100 percent worth doing because it’s A. Easy and B. Makes a Big Statement. Plus we love the texture play of the greens and the acrylic. Happy Gifting!

What You’ll Need

Acrylic Tags (2 sheets per tag)
Mini Magnets (a total of 8 per tag)
Glue Dots
-Pressed Greenery

How to Make Them

  1. Cut off tiny stems of your greens—we did cedar and boxwood. Press the greens in a thick book, lining the pages with parchment paper first. Leave the greens in the book for 3-7 days.
  2. Have a calligrapher letter your tags or do it yourself if you have good writing!
  3. Position your greens on one acrylic tag at a time. Secure them in place with glue dots.
  4. Place the lettered tag on top of the greens. Attach the two pieces together using the magnets—one on top and one on bottom in all four corners.
  5. You can drill holes in the tags prior to starting the process if you want to secure them to the gift with ribbon. But we just tucked the tags into the ribbon and used glue dots to secure them instead, which worked just fine!

Looking to spice up your holiday cocktail selection this year? We’re here to make spirits bright with three takes on signature drinks for your holiday gathering. Whether you want to serve one specialty drink, two or opt for a themed bar, you can’t go wrong with these tried and true favorites. Cheers!

His & Hers

It’s not just for weddings anymore. Try out a his and hers specialty cocktail at your holiday gathering this year with these sure-to-please recipes!

His: Maple Bouborn Punch

1 cup honey
6 sprigs rosemary; plus more for garnish
2 cups fresh orange juice
3 cups bourbon
2 teaspoon maple extract
2 teaspoon vanilla extract
ice ring
orange wheels

Bring honey, rosemary and 1 cup water to a simmer over medium heat. Let cool; discard rosemary. Combine honey syrup with orange juice, bourbon, maple extract, vanilla extract in pitcher. Stir in a few cups ice to cool. Pour into a punch bowl over an ice ring to serve, then garnish individual glasses with orange slices and rosemary.

Ice Ring

orange wheels
rosemary springs
bundt pan

Fill bundt pan with water 1/3 of the way. Add some orange wheels and rosemary to the water. Freeze for 3-4 hours. Repeat for two more layers if desired, waiting until each one freezes. To remove ice ring from mold, carefully run the outside of the bundt pan under lukewarm water until the ring dislodges.

Hers: Fizzy Spiked Pear Punch

4 cups pear juice
1 bottle proscecco or champagne
1 cup vodka
1/4 cup simple syrup (optional)
Fresh pears for garnish

Pour pear juice, vodka and simple syrup into a pitcher; stir to combine. Pop bubbly and slowly pour into juice mixture. Stir again, gently. Garnish with slices of pear.

Martini Bar

It’s classic, simple and always a crowd pleaser! Stock some vodka and gin, add in the mixers—we offered vermouth, olive juice and Lillet—finish with some garnish, and voila! We recommend having someone man the station to make it less intimidating and keep the drinks flowing.

Classic Signature Drink

If you’re craving simplicity this year, then we recommend sticking to a classic specialty cocktail: the white cosmopolitan. Festive and fun, we especially love this choice for a night with your girlfriends.

White Cosmo

2 parts vodka
1 part St. Germain
1/2 part lime juice
3/4 part white cranberry juice

Shake all ingredients and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with raspberry and a lime twist.
