Eastern Shore of Maryland Wedding Planner & Designer
To say the weather did not cooperate for Chrissy and Chris Perdue’s private home wedding would be the understatement of the year! We knew storms were in the forecast in the days leading up to their celebration, but were hopeful for the best. Instead we got the worst—torrential downpours, flash floods, and tropical storm strength winds—all within an hour of the planned outdoor ceremony by the water. So we went to Plan B (because of course we had a plan B given the forecast!): moving the ceremony to the backup tent positioned closer to the house. That plan held until about 10 minutes prior to go-time when the ground became too saturated for guests to even stand on. Enter Plan C: move all the furniture in about two minutes flat and crowd 220 guests around the fireplace in the family’s home to watch the couple say “I Do.” Thankfully Chris and Chrissy were total troopers throughout this whole process, and as a reward, the skies cleared just as cocktail hour was getting underway. With drinks in hand, guests were escorted out to the sailcloth reception tent for a black tie meets coastal chic affair. Think navy tuxes, natural wood tones mixed with pops of dusty blue and white, floral chandeliers, lawn games (for when the rain broke), family-style dinner service, and—of course—stunning water views. It may have been a rocky start to the day, but it looks like smooth sailing ahead for Chris and Chrissy! See more of this wedding on Brides.com!

Inn at Perry Cabin Wedding Planner & Designer
Early in their relationship, Megan and Chris took a trip to St. Michaels and stayed at the picturesque Inn at Perry Cabin for New Year’s Eve. They instantly fell in love with its warmth as if they had arrived home. It was the magic of that weekend that called them back for their wedding day a few years later. Looking to create a classic wedding equal parts intimate and personal for their guests, Megan and Chris opted for a ceremony tucked inside the Inn’s flower garden, cocktails under tree canopy by the water, and a warmly lit reception tent filled with deep blues, velvet linens and pops of cheerful blooms. The result was a cozy fall celebration full of love. See more from this wedding on Wedding Sparrow!

Inn at Perry Cabin Wedding Planner & Designer
In a bold move that was either destined for love or doomed for heartbreak, Michael asked Jenny out on their first date on Valentine’s Day—and luckily for both of them, the move paid off! An outing to Baker Beach in San Francisco quickly turned into a love connection for this East Coast gal and West Coast guy, who found themselves at the right place at the right time—living in the Bay Area. They spent the early days of their relationship hiking, fishing, and enjoying weekend getaways to Napa and Sonoma. It was on a weekend getaway to their favorite town of Carmel, Ca., that Michael surprised Jenny with a proposal in the company of her entire family—who traveled all the way from D.C. for the occasion.
Although they fell in love on the West Coast, they decided to move the party East for their big day. Jenny’s parents’ second home in St. Michaels inspired the setting at the waterfront Inn at Perry Cabin, where we helped bring a California cool vibe to this East Coast meets West Coast soiree. Inspired by the terrain of California’s wine country, topiaries, faded woods and lush greens set the scene at the Inn at Perry Cabin. Beneath the sailcloth tent, mixed tables and seating—including curved settees anchored by oversized pedestal urns—kept things relaxed. Meanwhile, driftwood chargers were layered with slate place cards, gold and white flatware, and olive branch sprigs to give life to the Napa Valley meets Chesapeake Bay theme.
