Happy Thanksgiving! We’re celebrating this intimate and indulgent holiday with a few tips on creating a festive centerpiece from floral designer Sarah Campbell, owner of Intrigue Design & Décor and founder of the upcoming Intrigued Experience conference. Sarah recommends incorporating texture into your Thanksgiving centerpiece with fun elements such as ornamental Kale and petite pumpkins. To keep her gourds from rotting, Sarah gives them a quick bleach water bath that ensures their freshness for the life of the arrangement.
For more floral design insights from Sarah and a host of other industry leaders, check out the upcoming Intrigued Experience conference, being held February 21 through 23, 2016 at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club. Participants will enjoy a unique three-day experience infused with hands-on floral design, styling and business education. More information is available on the conference website.
Get ready for a serious dose of fall! Joe and Carrie’s relaxed Eastern Shore wedding has it all: knockout blooms from Amanda Burnette, amazing portraits from Two Spoons Photography showing off the breathtaking grounds of Rock Hall’s Inn at Huntingfield Creek, and two of the most adorable wrinkly faced pups sporting—what else but—matching floral collars! Does it get any better than that?! Congratulations Joe and Carrie!
In the six months since we opened the Kari Rider Events studio, by far our favorite activity has been changing out the tablescape with the seasons. And this one is the best yet. But then again, we say that every time! For this setting, we stuck with traditional fall hues, pairing navy blue plates, burgundy place cards and mustard yellow napkins with copper and gold tones for a rich autumn take on a classic meets modern look. It wouldn’t truly be fall at the studio, though, without refreshing our bar cart with all the change-of-season essentials—red wine, bourbon and the most adorably festive mini white pumpkins! All beautifully captured by the talented Karena Dixon!
